Look, I Did a Thing!
If you like the video, give me a like and a follow, it would mean a lot! The start I had to cut some footage, so it’s less active than the rest, so I promise the video improves as it goes. This was a trial at video editing for me.
Classic Sci-fi Mystery & Adventure
When my buddy pitched Astra Lost in Space to me at the start of the Summer 2019 season, he described it as:
A space survival show with M. Night Shyamalan twists at every turn with a dash of comedy.
-My friend (who also read the source material before watching)
While I don’t think this is really an accurate description of the show, it feels more like Star Trek with a deep mystery running through it, I can now see what he meant. If you would have asked me what I thought the best show of the season was going to be, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one either. However, here we are. I hope everybody is doing well this fine October. The past couple of years I’ve done Halloween events, most notably last year with my October Review Fest where I did a whole month of themed content. Unfortunately this year I totally spaced the fact that October comes after September (I’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff, bare with me guys) so I was not at all prepared to do an awesome event at that scale again this year. Don’t distress though, that’s where Freaky Fridays come in! Every Friday this month I’ll have a themed article for the Halloween season. Today, 10 anime to get you into the Halloween spirit! Continue reading “Freaky Friday 1 of 4 – 10 Anime to get You into the Halloween Spirit”
Doing Something a bit Different
Today I felt like talking about my desktop backgrounds and my thought process behind how and why I choose the ones I have. This article is a good way to get to know me some more and an opportunity for folks to share some cool images with each other. This isn’t really meant to be in-depth or anything, just for fun. I know this is something fairly atypical of me but I hope you’ll indulge me a bit and enjoy 🙂 Continue reading “Taking a Look at my Desktop Backgrounds”
That’s All Folks!
Thank you to everybody who participated in this year’s Halloween event. I did more than I have ever done for an event like this; it ran the whole month! In case you missed any or all of the event, here is a list of each week and the respective reviews:
Week 1 – Lika Week
Week 2 – Fun & Gams Week
Week 3 – Higurashi Week
Week 4 – Obscure Week
We had a lot more articles published beyond this from both myself and contributors as well. Here are a few other articles that you may want to check out for the Halloween season from my contributors:
October Review Fest ended up being a little more taxing than I had initially expected, but that was largely due to real life interference. I would love to do more events like this in the future. I hope you’ll be around for them! That does it for this Halloween. Until next year!
First impressions for Rei are not good. The first episode is a forced fanservice episode that doubles as a pool episode. It’s meant to be funny, and to some degree it is, but that’s not why you’re here. Rei is meant to tie up the few loose ends that Kai had in its conclusion. So does it deliver on that front? Let’s dive in and find out! Continue reading “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei (Season 3) – The Perfect End?”
Fight for a Perfect World
If you haven’t read my review of season one, you should take a moment to do that. I’m going to assume you have some knowledge of season one in this review, so there will be some spoilers in this post. Kai is the follow up to Higurashi’s first season that delivers some much needed answers. Continue reading “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (Season 2) – Some Much Deserved Answers”
Murder is Better with Friends
I’ve been really excited for this week of the October Review Fest because I get to talk about one of my favorite anime series, Higurashi. This was a series I watched not too far into my anime journey and I loved every minute of it. I’ve since seen the show a couple times over and it is still cemented as one of my favorites. Here’s my look at the first season and why you should watch Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Continue reading “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Season 1) – Wait, What’s Going on?”
When the OP is Just Right…
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve personally put an actual article up on here. So I thought I’d get back into the swing of things by celebrating some of my favorite anime openings. I’ve seen a couple hundred anime, so this list took some careful consideration to whittle down to just 25.
The list is in no particular order and the only rule is that the opening has to have come from a show I’ve seen. Other than that, no repeats for stuff I’ve reviewed outside of honorable mentions. Obviously this is just my personal taste, so if an OP you love isn’t on the list I probably didn’t see the show or just didn’t like the opening that much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Continue reading “Top 25 Anime Openings”
This post is part of The 12 Days of Christmas
With the year nearing a close, I thought I’d share my top 10 personal favorite anime. These shows are ones that I personally got a lot out of, so I’m excited to share them with you. Some of these titles are well known, while others aren’t as popular. Enjoy! Continue reading “My Top 10 Favorite Anime (2015 Version)”
