If you were to ask me who my favorite film director was, I would have to be honest and tell you without a doubt: Tim Burton! There is something about his style that I truly appreciate when it comes to his films; whether it would be his off-the-wall premises, eccentric characters, whimsical scores, or gothic fairy-tale designs, Burton is a filmmaker unlike any other, and I am here to talk about my ten favorite films he has done in honor of the release of Burton’s live-action retelling of ‘Dumbo’!
Now for the fun part! As much as I love talking about the “Best in Film”, I especially love to share my thoughts on the stinkers of the year. However, sadly, due to either lack of interest or finances, I try to avoid seeing what I believe to be clunkers as much as I can, unless they interest me or are on my anticipated lists, which is why I never seem to call these the “Worst in Film”, but instead my “Bottom Picks”. Honestly, I have barely seen any terrible movies this past year, which makes listing them that much harder. Not all the films that are on this list are “terrible” or the “worst”, but just either mediocre, disappointing, or at the bottom of my movies list in the past year. So buckle up and take a trip down the bottom of the well where you will find my lowest films of 2018!
We are already in the second month of 2019, and awards season is already reaching its peak when The Oscars hit on the 26th, which means that my ‘Top Ten Movies’ list is a bit overdue. A lot has happened that has caused me to lose track of reviews last year, so it took me a long time to keep making them. On the bright side, 2018 had a lot of great movies, so much so that it was really hard to write a Top Ten list without making a few sacrifices. I will still talk about them in my honorable mentions, but these are the films that stuck out to me the most either by quality, or just how I felt about them. Without further ado, here are my ‘Top Ten Movies of 2018’
It is officially that time of year again where I count down the movies I am looking forward to in the later year. Let me tell you, there are a lot of movies for me to get excited for. Sadly, only ten could make the list! Without further ado, here are the ten movies I am looking forward to come 2019!
May is around the corner, which – in Hollywood terms – means that summer is about to start. As always, there are movies to look forward to, whether they are potential blockbusters, trips of nostalgia, or an Indie flick destined to become a critical darling (and a possible awards contender), I am here once again to give you a more in-depth look at my top 10 most anticipated films scheduled to release in the summer of 2018! As always, on with the countdown!
Out of all the movies I have seen in the past year, there have been some bad ones to balance the good. Here are ten of them.
The time has finally come! It took me a while to get to due to getting the chance to see ‘Downsizing’, ‘Pitch Perfect 3’, ‘Bright’, and ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’. Now, I can say that I am finally doing my favorite write-up of the year: Ranking my Top 10 films that made an impact on my movie-going experience! (Stay tuned for my 10 Worst films of the year!) Unlike previous years, these films are not specifically ranked by grade as much as to how I loved them. (even though, it is a major factor in my choices) With all that being said; on with the countdown!
This is the moment I have been waiting for! We are getting closer to the new year, which means I get to talk about (and share) the upcoming movies I am excited for in the new year! Some of these may be weird choices to you, but to me, these movies are what make me look forward to going to the movies. Also, feel free to let me know what your Top 10 anticipated movies are!
In honor of this week’s release of ‘The Dark Tower’, starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey; based on the popular book series by horror master Stephen King, as well as next month’s newest R-rated adaptation of ‘IT’ by King. I have decided to do my top 10 favorite Stephen King movies. Before I get started, the thing about Stephen King is that his work is so popular that it was a shame I couldn’t do a list on my favorite adaptations until now. Without further ado, here are my Top 10 favorite Stephen King films.
Christmas is almost here, so you know what that means! It’s time to do another Top Ten list of the films I’m excited for in the coming year! 2016 has been an eventful year with both the bad, (‘XOXO‘, ‘Bad Santa 2’, ‘The Boy’), and the good. (‘Eye in the Sky’, ‘Zootopia’, ‘The BFG’, etc.) We are a month away from heading into the new year, and it seems as though Hollywood is dishing out more films for our entertainment. Without further ado, here are my top ten anticipated movies of 2017!!
