Confessions of a Charlotte Fan

I’m Sorry, I have a Confession to Make…

Charlotte, the anime that promised to be the next big thing from Jun Maeda, the mastermind behind many popular anime series, such as Clannad and Angel Beats! While some fans were skeptical about whether the show could live up to the hype, others were excited to see what Maeda had in store for them.

Key in Transition – Kanon (2006) Review & Discussion

Kanon is a Weird Show

A long time ago I had planned to review and discuss each of the “big three” Key anime. Those being AirKanon (2006), and Clannad + After Story. Each a brain child of Jun Maeda, who would go on to make additional works that could easily be added to this initial list. However, I never got around to that article partially because I wasn’t sure how to convey just how radically different, while still being very much the same, each show was. Today I plan to retackle that very same article and explain the significance behind Kanon (2006). Continue reading “Key in Transition – Kanon (2006) Review & Discussion”

The 30 Day Anime Challenge Day 25 – The Saddest Anime Death

Double Whammy (Obvious Spoilers)

30-day-anime-challengeThe schedule is included in case you need/want it. I shouldn’t have to say it, especially again, but obvious spoilers in this post. Today’s topic is about the saddest death in anime and naturally that sort of thing tends to be a pretty big plot point in most shows. I’ll be talking about Clannad today so do whatever works for you. Last chance to leave if you want, otherwise let’s get right into it. Continue reading “The 30 Day Anime Challenge Day 25 – The Saddest Anime Death”

The 30 Day Anime Challenge Day 12 – Saddest Scene in Anime

We Found You! (Obvious Spoilers)

30-day-anime-challengeAs always, here’s a quick reminder of the schedule before we get into things for today. This is the twelfth day and I’ll be covering the saddest scene in anime for me. This one is a bit different than what day 25 will bring because I won’t be talking about a character dying. At least not in the traditional sense. Taking a Look at my Desktop Backgrounds

Doing Something a bit Different

Today I felt like talking about my desktop backgrounds and my thought process behind how and why I choose the ones I have. This article is a good way to get to know me some more and an opportunity for folks to share some cool images with each other. This isn’t really meant to be in-depth or anything, just for fun. I know this is something fairly atypical of me but I hope you’ll indulge me a bit and enjoy 🙂  Continue reading “Taking a Look at my Desktop Backgrounds”

Anime ABC’s – D is for The Devil is a Part-Timer

Comedy That Transcends Cultural Barriers

The Devil is a Part-Timer or Hataraku Maou-sama!  is a rare type of comedy anime that manages to get Western humor right while still feeling Japanese. This is true of both the sub and the dub, but today I’m going to be just talking about the dub as that’s my general preference as most of you know by now. The Devil is a Part-Timer, or Devil as I’ll refer to it from now on, was one of the better shows to come out of the Spring season in 2013. Did the show leave me impressed by the end of its 13 episode run, or did it run out of steam for me?
