I’m Sorry, I have a Confession to Make…
Charlotte, the anime that promised to be the next big thing from Jun Maeda, the mastermind behind many popular anime series, such as Clannad and Angel Beats! While some fans were skeptical about whether the show could live up to the hype, others were excited to see what Maeda had in store for them.
The show is centered around Yuu Otosaka, a high school student who has the ability to possess anyone’s body for a short amount of time. Along with other teenagers who have supernatural abilities, he attends a school for students with special powers. At first, the show seems like a typical high school anime, but it quickly takes a darker turn as the students realize the consequences of their powers and the people who are trying to exploit them.
One of the strengths of the show is its character development. As the story progresses, we see Yuu and the other students mature and come to terms with their abilities. We also see them develop strong bonds with each other, which makes the events of the show even more emotionally impactful.
Another positive aspect of the show is its music. As expected from a Jun Maeda production, Charlotte’s soundtrack is filled with beautiful and moving pieces that perfectly complement the show’s emotional scenes.
However, like any anime, Charlotte is not without its flaws. Some fans have criticized the show’s pacing, which can be slow at times, while others have pointed out that some of the plot twists are predictable.
Despite these criticisms, Charlotte is a show that is definitely worth watching. It has great character development, an emotional story, and a beautiful soundtrack. Fans of Maeda’s other works will not be disappointed, and newcomers to the anime genre will find it to be a great introduction to the medium. So go ahead and give Charlotte a try, you won’t regret it.
Spoilers, I didn’t write that. Can you guess who did? I’m gonna put my shill links down here anyway, but yeah, doubt you’ll use them on this one.
