‘Avengers: Endgame’ Film Review (Spoiler-Free)

Grade: A-

Don Cheadle, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Danai Gurira, and Karen Gillan in Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to this; eleven years and twenty-one films have led to a conclusion of epic proportions! Though, it takes a while to get to where it needs to be, due to its three-hour runtime. As much as I would love to talk about ‘Avengers: Endgame’, I feel by doing so would ruin a movie this huge and massive, it has to be seen to be believed. Nothing can prepare you for what is to follow, and how it all ends.

What I can talk about is what we already know based on the trailers. ‘Endgame’ picks up after the devastation Thanos (Josh Brolin) left in ‘Infinity War’, wherein a literal snap of his fingers left half of the Earth’s population decimated to nothing but dust (A spoiler warning would be considered too late for those who missed out on ‘Infinity War’), and the mad titan living peacefully on another world. While on Earth, the surviving heroes, which include Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Colonel James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Rocket (Voice of Bradley Cooper), have to find a way to deal with the tragedy, stop Thanos, and undo the damage that he caused.

There is no denying that ‘Endgame’ is the biggest movie of the year; filled with many twists and turns to surprising to mention here. It is a movie that was made for the fans while delivering the action, emotion, and comedy you have come to expect from the MCU. Anthony and Joe Russo have done it again by making a fitting ending to an epic saga that has been beloved and watched by many. For more details, a spoiler-review should happen in the later weeks when the hype dies down. There are no words to describe what an experience this is and there do not need to be.

    1. That’s understandable. I just like going to the crowded theaters not just to avoid spoilers, but it is more fun and you get to hear everyone react. As with other movie events like this, there was a lot of applause and laughter. I even heard a couple of sniffles during the emotional moments.

  1. Anti climax… infinity wars was so much better even Hulk has gone boring in this film… Was hoping for big mad Hulk Vs thanos instead it was little not doing much Hulk :.( . Still a good film but over hyped as usual and slightly odd in the end…
    Spoiler alert:

Was expecting some crazy long epic clever fight or some really clever plot end but no… Iron Man grabs the stones and clicks his fingers :0 wtf?! That was the big ending fight… Couldn’t just of done that before? Mega anti climax 🙁 especially after the amazing fight Ironman Vs thanos in infinity wars amongst many other cool fights and cool story lines …only a pale Shadow of those in this one 🙁 … I.e. what about the fact that getting everyone back may actually cause more problems and more suffering and thanos may actually be right in a weird way :0 !

    1. You may have a good point there. For the most part, I think it had to do with fan service, and that’s why it ended the way it did. Also, the point you mentioned is more hopeful if you really think about it.
