The 30 Day Anime Challenge Day 6 – Anime I Want to Watch but Haven’t

There Are so Many!

30-day-anime-challengeHere’s a quick reminder of the posting schedule and what we’ve done so far. For day six I’m talking about an anime I want to watch but haven’t yet. The lazy answer is anything on my MAL’s plan to watch list but that wouldn’t make for a very interesting post. There are a lot of anime I own or have access to that I could choose from for this but instead I’m going to talk about an anime I can’t watch, well legally at least.

I also love myself a good mystery story with some cat-and-mouse action. So what show could I possibly want to see? That would be Monster of course! I’ve heard nothing but great things about this anime since I first started looking into the anime community over five years ago now. Everything about the show screams “my thing” so it is really disappointing that I can’t really watch it in the US.

This is one of those rare times where the US doesn’t have something that a lot of other countries seem to have. I understand your pain international anime community. There was a limited release of some of the episodes here but they never finished releasing it or dubbing it. Too bad for me. Hopefully this will be a title that swings back around like a lot of titles I had long given up on in the past (Haruhi, Lucky Star, etc…).

For now I’ll just have to settle for the 100’s of other titles that I plan to watch though. How about you? What anime do you want to watch that you haven’t yet? Especially titles that you just don’t have access to normally. Let me know in the comments below. If you enjoy the work I’m doing here please consider supporting me on Ko-fi. As always, thanks for reading and I hope to see you back here tomorrow for day 7 of the challenge where I talk about my… anime crush? Oh that sounds spicy!

  1. Steins;Gate :p

Monster is an amazing series….I actually haven’t finished the anime, I paused at episode 30 something and it’s been years since then. But the manga is fantastic. If you can’t watch the anime, maybe check out the manga? Buying that many volumes may be expensive, but if my little library can carry them then I think yours should too. Definitely check it out!

    1. Oh, you gotta get on that Steins;Gate. Zero is around the corner! Why are you waiting?!? Haha, take your time though. It’s very good if ya ask me.

I super want to watch. Manga is something I just don’t buy and I don’t particularly enjoy. Though, if it was in my library I’d consider giving it a go at least. Thanks for the heads up on taking a look there.

  2. Way too many titles on my want to watch but haven’t list. There’s at least four shows from last season that I just didn’t have time for while they were airing but now the new season is starting and I’m not sure when I’ll get to them.

  3. YES! Monster is such as great anime and manga series. Shame on Viz for dropping the anime license for it. I know they still have the manga rights, but come on! This is one of those criminally underrated TV series that can make anyone take anime seriously. This and Yugo the Negotiator are animes that could be played alongside “serious” dramas like Homeland, The Blacklist, or The Wire if they were done in a live action format.

          1. Of course. I thought I heard about it being played on Hulu still, but I could be wrong because of Viz’s License lapsing. Then again, they do take off shows from time to time. They used to have all the episodes of Gasaraki and Kimba the White Lion on there, but they got dropped.
