‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant’ Film Review.

divergent_series_allegiant_ver16Like a chart your boss shows you to let you know how stocks and sales are going, ‘The Divergent Series’ has taken a roller coaster ride so far. It started off low with ‘Divergent’, a poorly shot pisser-of-a-film that made my blood boil inside. Then the series surprisingly gave me hope for its future with last year’s semi-blockbuster ‘Insurgent’. Sadly the series is going downhill with ‘Allegiant’, and even though this movie is not as headache-inducing as the first film in the series, it feels like a bore.

‘Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday’ Film Review.

peewees_big_holidayPee-Wee Herman does not age at all, both figuratively and literally. He still has his charm, his looks and childlike behavior we are so used to seeing back in his ‘Pee-Wee’s Playhouse’ years; and there’s no one who can play him better than Paul Reubens. Audiences were first introduced to Mr. Herman in 1981 as a stand-up act, years before Jeff Dunham introduced his puppets to the world, on an HBO stand-up special that was played late after parents put their children to sleep. The character was so popular with audiences that Warner Bros. wanted Reubens to write a film titled ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.’ This was a family-friendly theatrical film about the love between Pee-Wee and his bike, which one day gets stolen by a rival/bully of Pee-Wee Herman. Not only was it Tim Burton’s first theatrical film, it was also so popular that a sequel was made called, ‘Big Top Pee-Wee’ which showed Pee-Wee Herman helping a carnival get back on track was made.

‘Hardcore Henry’ Film Review.

Score: 2 out of 5

hardcore_ver2A first-person shooter as a movie has potential to make you feel like a man; I was expecting a bunch of awesomeness when I walked in to see ‘Hardcore Henry.’ The first trailer I happened to see was an advertisement on a Youtube video I was watching. It gave me that feeling of excitement. I wanted to transport myself into the world of Henry, a man brought back to life by his wife (Hayley Bennett) who becomes a total ass-kicking machine using an array of guns, grenades, and many other weapons he can find to shed some blood. Sadly, I was filled with disappointment.

‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Film Review

Score: 3 out of 5 stars

batman_v_superman_dawn_of_justice_ver8It’s the moment we all have been waiting to see! In one corner is a mecha-suit wearing, gun-toting, robotic-voiced Batman (Ben Affleck), and in the next corner is an angry-faced, muscle-bound Superman (Henry Cavill) ready to break down some punches and maybe shed a little blood in the new film by Zack Snyder, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’. Admit it, you were truly excited to see two of your favorite superheroes duke it out in a death-match. I mean, come on! It’s Batman vs. Superman! Who wouldn’t want to see that? It’s every superhero lover’s wet dream come true if you ask me! Sadly, I wanted to see more of a conflict and less of a jumbled story.

Monthly Update: April 2016

Hello Everybody!

Hope things are going well for you all out there. This update was a bit delayed because of April Fool’s Day being the day that this update would normally have released on. Sorry about the delay, but it seemed silly to make a serious post on a not so serious day. With that being said, let’s take a look at what’s been going on lately with me and the site.

March Thoughts

March ended up being a lot busier than I had anticipated. A lot of my University stuff has been going sideways, but things should have mellowed out now and corrected themselves, for the most part. In addition to this, work got a bit crazy too. Due to our most recent project, I had bumped up my hours to 4x the normal amount. This obviously left me little time to do much else.

As a result, I was really only able to produce one article this month. I did a review of Machi Koro, which you can check out here. Thankfully, Jacob has been super awesome! He had quite a few film reviews for you guys this month and even more coming for April. This month he did reviews for:  Deadpool, Zootopia, Zoolander 2, and Pride + Prejudice + Zombies. He’s been an excellent contributor here, so consider throwing some support his way. I know both he and I would greatly appreciate it!

I recently started my internship/independent study at University. My goal is to do a few postings about this because I think it’s interesting. Otherwise, I’ll continue to work on the 2 outstanding series I have to complete. You might see something else, but these are my priorities at the moment.

Plans For The Month

I know that I will be fairly busy this term, so I’m not going to make any big promises. For the next 3 months, expect my output to be lower. Once I’m done with school for the year, I should be producing more content more regularly. With that being said, I want to write about my LAUNCH project at University and make every effort to get at least one of the two series one step closer to being done.

Jacob has some film reviews coming your way this April, so you can be sure to look forward to them. I’ve had him on a T/R release schedule lately, and I aim on keeping him on that for now. If he has a review for me, you’ll probably see them on those days.

Lastly, a big thanks to everybody who continues to support the site and stop by every now and then. Hope you all had a good March and are ready for an even better April!
